It's been widely reported that Hayden travelled to Ducati and spent an
entire day there, plus had dinner with Ducati top people. Supposedly to
finalize an order for a personalized Desmosedici RR stradale, then again I
haven't heard of Ducati putting prospective owners through a personal
interview onsite...
I think it is safe to assume Hayden's ready for a change, his issues with
the new Honda must be indeed very frustrating, and probably elsewhere he
could start with the clean slate approach that may be beneficial for him
right now. Hopefully hayden can land a ride that suits his style and allows
him to prove his true worth again in '08.
If Stoner wins the championship, it'll be very interesting who Ducati will
pick to be a teammate. Melandri is not a huge hit with Italian fans, I hear.
Rossi and Ducati would be a match made in heaven, of course, and I would not
be surprised if Rossi is ready for a change, especially with the Yamaha I4
seemingly being unable to keep up with others.

Hayden at Ducati, thanks but NO thanks
Happy with the guys at hand, if anything Loris can head on down to
Ducati team 2, and Hopper can come aboard, least he has a go and
races, Hayden is a clown and complete out of his depth.
Is Lorenzo in the picture somewhere?

Obviously Stoner will stay with Ducati for an undetermined period as
of now. Rossi can make the best of any bike, but his association with
Fiat / Ferrari, and being an Italian seems like the PERFECT match for
Ducati (All Italian match up). The only problem I see is that Stoner
may not take a back seat to Rossi on a potential Rossi - Stoner Ducati
team, and I'm not sure he should. Stoner / Hayden maybe... I'd LOVE to
see a Rossi - Hayden / Stoner Ducati team sponsored by Fiat. Any
thoughts on these match ups?

Nobody's going to Ducati until Capirossi leaves.
I can't see any reason for Rossi to leave Yamaha. I equally doubt he
would leave without Burgess. And I can't see Burgess fitting into
Ducati.
If Capirossi does leave then
- Hayden
- Toseland
- Melandri
- Lorenzo
are all possibilities. But Ducati have already said that new guys to
MotoGP should go into a satellite team. And Lorenzo is almost certainly
already spoken for at Yamaha. Which leaves Hayden and Melandri. They may
prefer to have an older and cheaper partner to Stoner. So how about
Hodgson or Edwards?
It's a real shame that Hodgson has a gag order on him as tester. I'd
love to know what he thinks of the bike and how fast he is.

I hadn't heard much about Hodgson lately. He is testing for Ducati?
wow! that's news to me, but quite good news! I have always loved
Hodgson and was very disappointed to see him loose his ride in AMA.
I'd love to see Hodgson back in MotoGP on a Ducati. The AMA has got to
get their sh!t together and change the rules to allow Ducati 1200cc or
something! I hate to see nothing but inline 4's competing now. (but
AMA F-ups are a WHOLE other subject) I was somewhat sure, but just
read that Rossi is contracted to Yamaha for '07-'08. Fiat have agreed
to sponser '07-'08 as well. (looks like they are sponsoring Rossi, not
Yamaha in reality. And to touch on my previous post about a Fiat
sponsored Ducati... I didn't realize until reading the "MotoGP's house
of cards" article in the July Sport Rider magazine that Marlboro is
contracted to Ducati until 2011!! I wouldn't be suprised if they are
the only tobacco sponsor left in MotoGP by then. The sponsorship
dilema in MotoGP right now is horrible and quite depressing to me. We
can all agree that the move to 800cc really tossed things up in the
air and I think has been good for development, lap times, and racing
overall. (990cc bikes being pretty much at the end of their
development life) This is one of the best, if not THE best season of
MotoGP so far and I can't believe that no one wants to spend the money
to sponsor these troubled teams. Dorna, the factories, and tire
manufacturers have got to figure out a way to lower costs or we the
fans may have to start a collection pool! haha

Yeap, KR beat doohan to the Championship too.
I agree with G, NO to Hayden @ Ducati, No i aint anti American, Hopper
for mine is very welcome.
No old guys thanks either, very happy and satisfied with Stoner, great
match, he gets paid per results/points, he is going to be one rich guy
Loris is a issue, he has the rest of the season to turn it around or
his out.
NO to Rossi either, much as i like him [as u do] i want *Ducati* to
win on its own not with *Rossi* racing it.Yamaha will be screwed when
he leaves.Back down the toilet again...
