I replaced my low beam light with a "cool blue" bulb.

Is that cool or what?

Yet again another simple task that is a pain in the ass, remove upper
fairing, air intake cover, detach air intake resonator and fight with plug
and dust cover....

I am really starting to hate full faired sport bikes. At least the bulb is
available at the local auto parts store, but still $18!

Yes, it will get you put in the "cooler" here as it is illegal.

Blue blubs = Lower illumination
And those bulbs burn out fast

A standard 60/55 bulb can be replaced by a 75/70 Watt made by the Osram
company from germany
That is about the best deal.

snip

Not too cool, blue light produces very poor visibility for the human eye.
You've reduced your light output by about 20%.

Only "super white" or HID (or illegal wattage)will give an improvement

Oh great. Now I need to go through the fairing removal dance again?

The cool blue wasn't a conscience (sp?) decision. It was the first H7 bulb
I found on the rack.

Why are the cool blues more expensive? Do they just "look" cool?
And why are they illegal in some countries? Maybe I'm safer riding the old
6 volt Honda 90?

The only full fairing bikes that are easy to work on are GP bikes. Any
production bike will be a nightmare to work on by comparison (although
the GP bikes need more constant maintenance).
