It's only money. Looks like we only got a very little time left to
enjoy it anyway.

http://environment.independent.co.uk/climate_change/article2976669.ece

"A rise of two degrees centigrade in global temperatures - the point
considered to be the threshold for catastrophic climate change which
will expose millions to drought, hunger and flooding - is now "very
unlikely" to be avoided, the world's leading climate scientists said
yesterday.

The latest study from the United Nation's Intergovernmental Panel on
Climate Change (IPCC) put the inevitability of drastic global warming
in the starkest terms yet, stating that major impacts on parts of the
world - in particular Africa, Asian river deltas, low-lying islands
and the Arctic - are unavoidable and the focus must be on adapting
life to survive the most devastating changes."

They are great bikes and in my experience they take excellent care of
their customers. Just do it.

There is a used 2002 VStrom 650 for sale locally ($4800) with all the
aftermarket goodies (hard cases, crash bars, heated grips, etc). I am sure
that bike is a good deal on bike that really fits my needs / desires, but I
can't get that damned Ducati GT1000 out of my mind. The Suzi is half the
price and if I sold my F4i, I'm only out a few bucks.

The Vstroms just don't speak to me, perhaps I should go in a demand a test
ride. My birthday is coming up. Damn you Ducati.

If you believe what the United nations feeds ya I have some swampland
to sell you in Alaska. And I saw Elvis at the Burger king the other
day as well. Maybe we are getting this global warming from all the hot
air the UN is trying blow up our ass. I cannot believe you would
actually take the UN seriously.

I like to read history, so I recall the energy crisis when we ran
out of whale oil... that one sucked. How about the time someone figured
we would soon be unable to support our economy, because we were running
out of farmland to feed our horses. In the seventies, we were supposed
to be petrified because the earth was rapidly cooling! ooh, the ozone!
Wait, population explosion. Nevermind, too many old people and not
enough children being born.
Man, life'll kill ya.

BTW, the North pole is melting, but the south pole is not. Go figure.

The earth was once warmer ( and colder ), and will be so again. Maybe humans
caused it this time. Maybe not. To be on the safe side, don't buy oceanside
real estate.

Stay away from oceanside real estate, say, for the next century.

Well, technically speaking, the south pole isn't melting....but lots of
things AROUND the south pole appear to be very unhappy, temperature wise,
and it is ASSUMED that as the edges go, so goes the pole.

Could be. I think we should consider buying cheap real estate along the
edges of the Hudson Bay, for a future jet-ski emporium when it becomes a
summertime vacationland for people fleeing the deserts of Maine, Ocean City,
Myrtle Beach and whatnot.
