Driver sought in hit and run

Authorities suspect a woman driver of plowing into a motorcycle who was stopped
at a red light, seriously injuring the bike's driver, before fleeing the scene.
The hit-and-run happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S.
Highways 40 and 6 in Jefferson County, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
A black 2005 Honda CBR motorcycle was stopped at a red light in the right lane
of westbound Highway 40 when it was rear-ended by a white 2004 Chrysler Sebring,
the state patrol said in a press release.
The motorcycle driver, Michelle Zoril, 21, of Golden, was thrown from the bike.
Zoril, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to St. Anthony Central Hospital with
serious injuries, the state patrol said.
The driver of the Chrysler fled the scene and is still at large.
The front license plate of the Chrysler - Colorado 465-NFA - fell off on impact
and was recovered at the scene, the state patrol said.
Witnesses described the Chrysler driver as a white or Latino woman with blonde
hair, about 5-feet 5-inches tall and about 130 pounds.
The crash remains under investigation.
The state patrol asks anyone with information on the incident to call 303
239-4501. >> Stay informed about: ~~ Cage Driver sought in hit and run of Motorcycle = Loud.. |

Sad accident but HOW exactly would have load, err excuse me I mean
obnoxious, pipes saved anything here?
If the driver didn't see the motorcycle right in front of her eyes, what
makes you think the driver would have heard it!?

Pigs have a really good sense of smell. Maybe if the biker farted the
driver would have sensed danger ahead and drove off into a ditch. >> Stay informed about: ~~ Cage Driver sought in hit and run of Motorcycle = Loud.. |

Since they have the license plate off the offending vehicle are they
waiting & expecting a call from DMV? They "should" have "information on the
incident"!
BTW, crossposting is almost as stupid as waiting for someone to call
with leads when you have the license plate in hand..........

As always it was the motorcycle rider's fault
why sit there and get hit?
forget the laws or 'rights'
1 - when you stop you must be back from the cross white line
2- you stop in first gear, clutch in, ready to move instantly
3 - you stop with both feet down - it is faster to take off then having to
right the bike then ride off
4 - at the instant you stop you turn around and look at the driver eye to
eye behind you to see if they see you
and if they are going to stop - forget looking in a mirror that does not cut
it
5 - since you are back of the line a bit you might just need to move ahead
to give the car behind more stopping distance
6- you can drive ahead
7 you can drive off and make a tight turn right or left since it is a
motorcycle not a car
8 - you can jump off before getting hit
9 - you also have a bright safety vest on so they may see you better
10- you might add extra brake lights to be noticed better
you do not sit there and get hit
it is the rider's fault for doing so >> Stay informed about: ~~ Cage Driver sought in hit and run of Motorcycle = Loud.. |

How do you know how fast she was going? She could have hit him at 8 Mph
and knocked him over, that would cause serious injuries.
The most common reason people flee from hit and runs is they are
drunk and don't want to get cited for drunk driving in addition to
reckless driving and so forth. Usually the people turn themselves
in the next morning after sobering up and claim they didn't know they
caused an accident until they read about it in the papers - an obvious
pack of bullshit, of course.

Hit-run suspect surrenders
By The Denver Post
Article Last Updated: 09/19/2007 03:50:52 PM MDT
Michelle Zoril on Tuesday at St. Anthony Central Hospital. A car hit her
motorcycle at a Jefferson County stop light at about 1 a.m. Sunday, and the
woman's back was broken.
A 41-year-old woman turned herself in to police this afternoon, admitting she
was the driver who hit and badly injured a female motorcyclist Sunday and fled
the scene.
Renee Montano of Denver turned herself in to the Lakewood Police Department
around 1 p.m. today. She was turned over to the custody of the State Patrol and
has not yet been charged.
The motorcyclist, Michelle Zoril, 21, of Golden, was stopped at a red light just
before 1 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of U.S. 40 and U.S. 6 in Jefferson
County when she was struck from behind, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
She was thrown from the bike and broke her back.
Troopers got a lucky break when they found the front license plate of Montano's
car, a white 2004
Michelle Zoril, 21, sits in a full back brace in her hospital room at St.
Anthony Central Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007. (THE DENVER POST | KATHRYN
