Power Commanders are quite nice little items. Sure you
really have a need for one?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Sure, that thing on the seat can always be improved, all it takes is some
training and practice.

For extra performance, hmm.

Do:

- Attend MSF training consummate with your comfort and experience
level; then
- Find some like-minded friends and attend a track SCHOOL (not open
practice day) like dP Safety, CLASS, Keith Code, Spencer, Schwantz,
etc.
- Setup your stock suspension for your weight and riding style.

Don't:

- Hang out with jackasses who know nothing but stunting and "racing"
in straight lines.
- Spend too much on gadgetry until the Do's are completed.

I'm sure a PC III or equivalent from Yoshimura will wake up a couple
more horsepower, in conjunction with various other intake and exhaust
mods. What's the point, if you can't use it actually riding the
motorcycle in a closed-course venue?

(Liter sportbikes seem more dangerous to me every day, but then again
I'm on a "back to basics" kick at the moment.)

The quickest path to additional performance from your bike is
tightening the loose nut behind the bars.

you need one of these <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.powercommander.com" target="_blank">www.powercommander.com</a> and get a full race pipe to get
anything out of the 929. Have a look at <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.cbr929rr.org" target="_blank">www.cbr929rr.org</a> for some tips.

Ooops...wrong Mike! Thanks for "snooping" for me.

If I go, it will be later in the afternoon, around 3 or so. I can't sneak
away from work in the morning or I would!

John and Mike are going to do Alpine on Saturday, leaving @ 5:30 and hope to
return in the evening. I'm just not up to a 600 mile ride only being out of
surgery for 4 weeks. I am going to Salt River Canyon on Saturday.

You and Mike up for anything on Sunday?

So are you saying that you have used all the possible power your 929 will
produce and need more or do you just have nothing better to spend your money
on, not that spending your money on your bike is a bad thing, and I know
that besides performance what much can be done with jap bike.

I think a PCIII on the 954 is a must. After I installed mine, I noticed
more midrange, more smoothness and the ON/OFF throttle feeling was nearly
gone. It makes the bike MORE rideable, improving driveability, which should
be easier on the rider who isn't going to push the bike to its limits. As
for me, if mine were a 754, it would probably be too much! ; )

What time?

 >You and Mike up for anything on Sunday?

Sure. Out of town. Maybe White Spars?

BTW, I've got 5 days off, like it or not, next Wed-Sunday. Mike's going
to San Diego over the 4th with his parents, so I'd like to find someone
that wants to ride to Alpine/191/180/78 for at least an over nighter.
I'll go solo if I don't find someone. Maybe I can hook up with R1-Brett
in Springerville, once up there. I may even camp like previous years.
