After hearing from yet another Buff convert, can I please ask for a
quick show of hands from people who wear Buffs? (The traditional
Buffs or the new fangled ones)

www.buff.es for the unconverted.

I love my new one already. I've not taken it off since I first put it
on!

My mate rob puts his long ponytail in his to stop it flapping about.
Works a treat!

Yer. Oi lurves moi Buffs. When I had long hair I would wear the
double length one like a snood, avoiding those embarrassing and
inconvenient tangles, and still do the same in Winter as it keeps my
big head warm.

I've used mine throughout summer as I find exploding insects + neck
sting.

Used an quivalent. Good for keeping draft out when its cold enough you
feel other forms of transport would be better.

I have two of them - got the first as a present for my Aus trip and it was
great for keeping sand out of my mouth across the desert ( A german guy I
met on a Beemer outfit tried to buy it off me as he was sick of the sand
getting up his nose/sticking to his mouth etc but, given that if I'd sold it
*I* would have had to endure that I politely refused). Plus, when stopped, I
could just pull it over my head to protect from the sun.

More recently I've used them on road bikes, with road helmets and it keeps
you warm, but not hot, andkeeps the worst of the elements away.

And I found if you pull one down to just above eye level, then pop on a
decent fitting helmet, the Buff gets dragged down so it covers nose & ears
perfectly, ut leaves vision clear (this may be a side effect of having a big
nose though).
