Well, yes, the bike should fit the rider, both size and weight. That's why
I don't even attempt anything larger than 600 cc. Looks like you and I are
at opposite extremes and neither is the "norm". Wink

So what size bike do you think a lanky elf like me should get?

It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you.

Cool. Smile You have, of course, spoiled the question and the reason for
asking it. }: )

Hold on a sec. while I peer down the web cam and get a look at your scrawny
frame.......... Wink

It depends not only on your size and strength but on your experience and
skill...........none of which I am qualified to judge.

You should get what is comfortable for YOU; to hell with what everybody else
says.
Never buy a bike without a test ride. NEVER.

Yowza.. Do the new Adventures actually come with a winch then?
Or does he just never drop the bike Wink (Granted, my GS is probably
60+ lbs heavier, but still, when I'm picking mine up it requires a bit
of oomph..)

(and I've only ever tipped it over at a traffic light _once_..
Leaning on one leg like I did with the 250 was a BIG mistake.. But
sometimes you put the kickstand into wet gravel and you come back and
it's time to shoulder under and PUSH...)

Yep, at lower speeds the GSes can be a handful, but once you're
over 10-15mph they transform into peg-scraping carvers, and experience
definitely helps Wink

IIRC, when he started that business, he was only a few blocks away from a
(now defunct) Yamaha/BMW dealer, Blalock Cycles of Wheaton, MD.
His current dealership in Savage is truly a class act.
