It's a religious thing. The Dutch used to be god-fearing Calvinists,
and didn't hold sporting events on Sundays. Now it's just a
tradition.

Saturday racing got to be a habit. Tradition goes a long way in explaining
Assen.
In a country where hookers and hash are ok, I.m sure Sunday is not a off
limit day now
