Get the sidestand cut and welded, as follows:
A competent welder will easily be able to do this job - just ensure
the joint is V'd so you are able to fill the join with weld as opposed
to a butt joint - or have the arm sleeved.

It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "SP" <Lesley DeleteThis @ukrm.org> saying

And make sure it's not cast iron.

I never had a problem with mine, but: if you don't want to go for the
cut 'n' weld solution, Renegade make a bracket that changes the angle of
lean:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.renegade-products.com/renegade/messages/2/95.html?1074886906" target="_blank">http://www.renegade-products.com/renegade/messages/2/95.html?1074886906</a>
Alternatively, AF1 Racing can supply a billet aluminium sidestand...
hmmm, shiny:

Ha! You think I never noticed that.
OK, lemme explain: I never said sidestands were cast iron. I gave cast
iron as an example of something which is a bastard to weld, even if you
use the correct nickel based electrode. Get it wrong and you have a
completely useless weld, as eny fule kno.
I have been inspecting welding (amongst other things) for the last 25
years and know a bit about welding and the welding industry.
Just to give you something to worry about, I am presently inspecting
welding on bits for the new Wembley stadium. Last year it was Swiss Re,
before that it was the London Eye, etc.

I don't think welding is the option for my bike, was more looking for an
adaptor. Thanks for your reply though!

You said ANY ideas. Muppet.
You need a shorter side stand.
An angle grinder will give you a shorter sidestand.
It may not be what you would like, but it will solve the problem.

lol :O) I did, you're right. Even though we know it needs the adaptor,
we cant get hold of one, and it looks like the dreaded angle
grinder/bend it out a bit approach is creeping nearer.
