Diminished chords - really?
Almost every Broadway show tune (think Gershwin, Porter,
Rodgers/Hart/Hammerstein, Kern, Berlin) has a chord structure which
depends on the diminished (strictly, the flattened ninth of the
tonic). And it makes some appearances in the blues (of the electric,
