Just purchased a '99 Virago 1100. Rides great but is a little rough at idle
and there is valve tick. Is this normal?

thanks

You have the same engine as the V-Star 1100. Your valves make noise
when they come in contact with the head. That is when they dissipate
heat. If they do not come in contact with the head, they do not
dissipate heat, and they burn.

If the engine performs well, ignore the noises. I'm still trying to
get used to it myself!!

Valve tick is normal. Try new plugs, sync the carbs.
