Hi,
Can anyone help? I recently purchased a 1994 XJ600 Seca II. Who ever had
the bike before me did some very strange things and really didn't look after
the bike very well so I'm starting to get things sorted but have hit a few
problems.
1) The bike is drinking fuel about 150 km per tank!
2) I can't get hold of a service manual at the moment, the price here in
Australia for one is a little excessive so I'm having to save up.
3) I need to replace my fork seals
4) I need to check my shim clearances.
So can anyone tell me.
1) Where the powerband should kick in. Mine is around 3500rpm now I've
changed the air filter.
2) What part number / size / spec the jets should be in there. I have a
feeling that they may have been changed at some point.
3) What the levels the oil should be in the front forks (if you can tell me
how far from the top that would be great).
4) What the clearance levels should be for the shims.
5) Does anyone else have a vibration between 3000 and 4000 rpm? I have a
feeling it's just resonance but I'm not sure.
6) What the front and rear sprocket tooth counts should be (just want to
make sure that I've got the right ones.)
7) Where I can get a cheap service manual from in Australia.
I know that there's a lot to ask but I would be grateful if anyone can help
me. I just want to get the bike back to a nice running machine.
Thanks
Andy
