Archived from groups: alt>motorcycles>yamaha, others (more info?)

Hi all,

I've just picked up a 650 turbo ('83 vintage) that has been sitting in a
shed for 10 years. I am planning on restoring it to 'original condition' and
would appreciate some tech tips from those who own/have rebuilt one.

At the moment I know it needs a battery, mufflers and I am planning on
pulling the motor out, cleaning it out etc. Apart from the obvious, what
needs to be done?

Thanks in advance.

Peter Wallington.

heaps hope you are mechanically minded

an old bike that was "hi-tech" in its day, you will have your work cut out.

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.turbomotorcycles.org/" target="_blank">http://www.turbomotorcycles.org/</a> would be a good start

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.xjowners.com/" target="_blank">http://www.xjowners.com/</a> and

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.geocities.com/xj650turbo/motor.htm" target="_blank">http://www.geocities.com/xj650turbo/motor.htm</a>

should help
