Hey guys, long time listener, first time poster.

Ok, just bought a 2003 Husqvarna TE610E a few months ago in California
and decided to ship the bike over to Greece because I'll be spending
quite a bit of time over there in the next 10 years.

OK, bike was shipped but I never prepped it before sending it on the
boat because I didnt have the time. I recovered the bike in Athens
after it sitting for 4 months. The bike still had half a tank of gas
in it.

Symptoms: Bike usually starts right away. After riding for a minute or
so, it'll bog out and die on me, usually when in a high gear, and
won't restart again. If I leave for about 10 mins, it starts right up.
But, sometimes it starts and runs for awhile, and will die next time I
try to start it. Very annoying as the bike only has 50kms on it

Could it be a gummed up carb? Clogged carb? I don't know much about
bikes but am mechanically inclined. I have a full set of tools and am
willing to tackle this problem by myself.

Thanks in advance

I'd attack the fuel line to the carb first. Make sure that flows
freely. Second, the carburetor float may be sticking near closed. A
restriction in either could let you run a few minutes just on the fuel
in the float bowl, until it runs dry... After some time sitting, enough
fuel seeps past the restriction to refill the bowl.

Maybe run some sort of fuel additive cleaner (well, try to run
some <G>). If these don't do it, THEN pull/clean the carb.
