I have a 2003 Fatboy fuel injected. The bike runs fine (5 minutes)
until it gets to running temperature. Once there, it pops on
accleration from dead stops - really bad. I've changed plugs, cleaned
air filter, and removed power commander and still it pops on take offs
at running temperature. Any ideas out there?

I resolved my situation. The KISS rule applied here. Once I removed
the dash and tank I was able to investigate better as to what my
problem was - Here it is short and sweet - The two rubber breather
tubes from the heads that go through the air filter back plate into
the carberator had started rotting at the bends off the heads. Since
the tubes are a virtual "S" shape, I just reversed them with the ends
that were in the carb, I connected to the breather connection on the
heads - Problem solved - No more popping on accleration. Taaa Daaaa!

Now - a message to MANCUSO Harley Davidson on Main in Houston - Screw
you guys! These SOB's wouldn't do a diagnostic scan for me unless they
were allowed do the repairs. Go F$#K yourselfs, my business will not
come through your door again!

Did you offer to pay for the scan? Those guys always treated me right. I
haven't been over there for some time since Republic opened just a few
miles from my house. I wonder if they've changed their stripes since
they opened the new location on 290?

In December 2006 they treated me fine - I had 50,000 miles on my 2003
bike and the balance rods on my Twin 88B jump timing with the crank
and would rattle your fillings out. They had records of all my oil/
filter/and seal purchases for services I perform myself and honored my
extended warranty - The work they perform came with a price ticket of
$4,200.00 - yeah they treated me fine at that point but Joel Pusson
(service manager) blew me away with his comment of "Oh hell, if we're
not going to do the repairs then I will not do the diagnostic". I'm
sure they treat everybody fine as long as cash is rolling into their
pockets. The diagnostic would cost $80.00 but he refused - What a
prick! Service with a smile - no way - service with a smile and big
price tag - no doubt..............
