Hi,

My brother just bought an '83 and I was here in the group to see if the
chain needed to be replaced. It has almost 60K now. Thought chains
never needed replacement. Uggh.

Give me a break. Timing belts need periodic replacement in
most of today's cars and timing chains in the real cars that
Detroit used to build needed to be replaced periodically
