Am trying to revive my old XS2. Its been idle for about 6 years. After removing
and cleaning the carbs ( freed stuck floats ) i got it started. But it will
only stay running on full choke. any suggestions on my next step. thanks

First guess is you didn't get the jets completely clear,
but before you break down the carbs again, check those
vacuum fuel shut off valves and their lines.
On one old 650 I met, the vacuum tubing was shot and
the air leaking in leaned out the mixture.
Took me quite a while to figure that one out.
While you're at it check the rubber boots to the intake ports,
a leak there can also lean your mixture out.

Best of luck-
