My Parents have a 1971 350 Honda in there shed, its high & dry & in
good looking condition, I use to drive it around in are feilds when I
was younger. Today I was out at my parents House & started wondering
about that old 350. I'm not shure what type of 350 it is. On the Frame
the Date of manufacture is 5/71, The Frame Vin is: CL350-3034255 &
the Vin on the Motor is: 350E-3097527. The Bike is a metalic Gold with
a Black Tank Emblem that looks factory, it looks kinda like a bat Wing.
Really Weird factory Tank Decal. If anyone knows what kinda 350 this
is I'd like to know. The Bike is in real good shape, turns over good,
Not rusted. I'm thinking about getting it running.......would be a fun
bike to get on the road. Know one uses the Bike, My 2 brothers have
no interest in it, cause it's only a 350cc Motor.

What you have there is a CL350. It's a pretty excellent machine - almost
identical to the CB350s. It should have a neat looking high exhaust and
tall handlebars stock. If you can find the title, it'll make a good
streetbike. You can get better compound shoes for the stock DLS front
drum brake from vintagebrake.com, and I'd recommend 10wt oil in the forks.
Also, ditch the crappy shocks in favor of a pair of Konis or
Progressives, and you'll be much happier with its handling.

A good read about these bikes: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.umgweb.com/member1/hcb2502.htm" target="_blank">http://www.umgweb.com/member1/hcb2502.htm</a>

Good luck!

If you can't find the title, ask your state department of transportation -
how to perhaps get a new one or at the worst, maybe a "reconstructed" title,
though the latter is usually different parts from different bikes to make
one complete one.

I had a bike once which was sold after the owner died, no title (or the
title was screwed up somehow) - to someone else.
That person then sold the bike to me, and when I sent the title in to get it
changed, I was told it couldn't be done. I called the State Police in. They
came down, I explained the situation. They took any and all numbers they
could find from the bike. They came back a week later with a form for me to
fill out and send into the state. I got a new title.

So, maybe your State Police can help you if not the State Department of
Transportation (some of them don't know).

to there name ever. last time it was licenced was 1983 (plate is still
on it) & that's when we got it from my Uncle. I shouldn't have any
Trouble finding the title. Thanks for the info though, The CL350 is
going to be a sweet Ride when I'n done with it., going to make it look
like it just rolled outta the factory Doors.

I have a 71 SL 350 that is pretty close to your bike. I just got a
refund for a front tire that I ordered (3.50 X 19) from a nearby SUZUKI
shop early January that never came. You will need new tires - any ideas
on a good supplier? I have bought the battery for my SL from Dennis
KIRK for $10 less than the local Honda shop. The bike has been
modified to a smaller rear sprocket for road use and I expect to put
Universal tires on it.

Keep a log of your progress - it is fun to hear what others have dealt
with in restoring these classic bikes.
