I want to put some progressive fork springs in my bandit. Is it just a case
of undoing the cap in the top of the forks and pulling one out and putting
the other in?

No, there are damper rods that extend through the springs. A
nut and retaining washer have to be removed once the cap is off.
It's best to change the fork oil at the same time as the
springs. Get a liter of good 10wt or 15wt fork oil, and remove the
fork tubes from the steering head. (There's no drain plug).<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

maximum-suzuki.com will have a link to a guy named Bill's website. He has step
by step instructions for most things like this. come to think of it, there's a
link on holeshot.com too.
